Driftless Bells

This Anthelion Project collaboration was made using images and field recordings gathered by Adam Nelsen.

Fresh off it’s premiere at Art-a-Whirl 2022, here is “Driftless Bells,” a song I put together using a looped field recording of bells (like wind chimes, but more intense). It’s available on YouTube, but if you like the tune, the mp3 is available for purchase at AnthelionProjects.com/shop.

The field recording and photos were collected by this Anthelion Project’s Co-Operator, Adam Nelsen. Intended as part of a larger project, when that project didn’t come together, I thought the recording was too beautiful not to do something with. This is the result.

My vision for the next phase of Anthelion Projects is more of this: collaborations with artists and non-artists, working in any media or discipline. In this case it was sound and photographs. In the past it’s been voice memos and time-lapse video. Writing, music, sculpture, dance, or any other media can work as well. Have fun, dive deep, whatever feels worth doing. If you’re interested in collaborating, contact me at AnthelionProjects@gmail.com.
