How to Blow a Metaphor

For early April, we’ve been having some pretty summery weather here in Minneapolis. This has meant a run of absolutely perfect days, but also a few summer-style thunderstorms.

These storms would be ripe for metaphor if I knew enough about how storm fronts work to make one. We do seem to be moving through a border time between life under Covid and life after Covid, and that’s where the violent storms come from, right? When low-pressure and high-pressure systems meet? But which would be the low-pressure system, what’s been or what’s coming?

It all feels high-pressure to me.
